Thomas Susemihl was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1956. At the age of 14, photography became his major interest and the subjects of his early pictures were people and architecture in BW. Realizing that he had a passion for photography, he left Brazil for Germany where he stayed for 5 years studying at Bayerische Staatslehranstalt fur Photografie Munchen. And then working as a photographer of an Advertising Agency. Then he went back to Brazil in 1981, chose his native town of Sao Paulo to live in, opened his own studio and since then, he has been working as a professional photographer for big companies in the fields of Fashion, Publishing and Advertising. He was one of the pioneers to work with large format digital photography in Brazil.
